He's Just Not That Into You

Anyone who knows me well knows that I am definitely not a fan of romantic comedies. However, yesterday I ended up seeing He's Just Not That Into You due to some timing problems (I was hoping to see The Wrestler but it wasn't playing at the right time). The movie was cute and pretty entertaining, but the thing I liked most about it was Ginnifer Goodwin's hair!


While it's definitely not a look I could ever pull off (my hair does not cooperate when it's short) it doesn't hurt to dream!

Slumdog Millionaire

So I finally got around to seeing Slumdog Millionaire, and I must say that it DEFINITELY lived up to all the hype. I absolutely loved every second of it. It got me thinking about the documentary Born Into Brothels and the amazing photography made by children born in the Calcutta red-light district and taught by photographer Zana Briski:

I've spent most of the day cleaning out my closets and drawers, and in the process I discovered three belt buckles that I thrifted a long time ago, outgrew and then stuffed in a drawer. I figure it's as good a time as any to try my luck on ebay. I've sold a couple items in the past, but I'm in no way an expert, so this is one big experiment. Interesting Find: Vintage Mugshots

Thanks to Sally Jane Vintage (who created the amazing photo collage above), I have spent a lot time looking through the Least Wanted Photostream. They have compiled tons of old mugshots and lineup photos from the 1900s through the 80s with crimes ranging from public drunkenness to being a communist. While you have your average scary criminal, you also have grandmothers and children! Enjoy digging through these and imagining the stories that accompany each one.

During my daily trek to Apartment Therapy, I saw this creative post about ways to handle those little things us renters have to look at but can't really do much about...like drain pipes! So Cute!

Also, I just had to post a picture of this awesome office from an apartment in a converted cookie and candy factory in Montreal. In the spirit of looking for a vintage item to collect (remember my vintage typewriter post?), I'm now officially on the hunt for vintage fans! SO so cute!

Lust: Comme des Garcons for H&M

I can't WAIT for the new Comme des Garcons collection at H&M. Although most of the items are still out of my price range (that dress on the right is $350!), I will still make a stop at H&M to peruse the goods. Although if the debut in Tokyo is any indication, I'll be lucky if there are any items left for me to see by the time I get there! Check out the video below for a behind the scenes look-

Twisted Beauty: Roadkill Carpet

I'm not sure how twisted the readers of this blog are (I, personally, am not a huge fan of roadkill), but you can't deny the originality of this carpet designed by Oooms. I guess they really describe it best:
