A few weeks ago my friends, ANR, asked me to sing backup vocals for them at one of their upcoming shows. Now if you're a long-time reader of this blog then you know I'm pretty much obsessed with them. I mean they even inspired one of my collections. What you may not know is that I've always wanted to be a backup singer. Nope, not a lead singer. A BACKUP singer. I think it started with Guns N' Roses but that's a different story.

So obviously I said yes. And I probably had one of the most fun nights...no make that weeks...ever. As a solo classical pianist all my life and throughout undergrad (I have a Bachelors of Music degree from the University of Miami), I hardly ever have the chance to play with other musicians, let alone super-awesome-crazy-talented friends of mine.

So what's next? Recording backup vocals for their upcoming album and we already have another gig in the works! That's right, guys...backup singer dreams coming true before your very eyes!

Started last year by my good friends Tiffany and George, The Vessel Co. is an online shop that sells, well, vessels.

"The term vessel is stretched to its limits within our store, all an object must do is be able to contain. A spoon, a pouch, a basket, a grain scoop, can all be given a new purpose, and a second chance."

Diamonds and Rust

If you happen to find yourself in the Beverly, MA area be sure to stop by the perfectly curated treasure shop, Diamonds and Rust. From Pendleton camp blankets and Turkish Kilim rugs to a light house paint by number and the most beautiful wooden card catalog I've ever seen, this shop has it all. And if you don't happen to live nearby, you can always stop by their newly opened online store.

Mr. and Mrs.

I wanted to share a special gift I made for my BFF Melody (MeMelodia) for her bridal shower. When I received her wedding invite in the mail, I was immediately in love with the beautiful red wax seal on the flap impressed with her and her fiancé, Ben's, initials.

My initial thought was how awesome it would be as a little charm so I made a mold of the seal and made a slightly smaller charm version in fine silver. To accompany it I made the same piece as a key chain for Ben.

I was so happy with the way they turned out but I was burning up inside having to wait a few weeks to give it to her. I'm proud to say the wait was worth it! Based on the texts I've received since the party ended ("I'm still on Cloud 9!" "Ben loves the keychain!") I'm going to assume it was a great success!

Congratulations Melody and Ben! I can't wait to spend your big day with you!!! xoxo

Beginning to End

There are very few albums that are so amazing that I can listen to it from beginning to end without needing to skip a not-so-great track. So when an album comes along that does just that, of course I get excited. I get even more excited when the band in question happens to be my great friends (and fellow University of Miami, School of Music alums), ANR.

You MUST check out their album "Stay Kids" ASAP. Pay particular attention to my favorite song on the album, "A Year of Solitude Pays Off." Those vocals...wow.

Custom Order: Quartz Bride's Ring!

My BFF, Melody, of MeMelodia brought me this amazing Quartz geode to make into a 3-finger ring that she wanted to wear to her Engagement party. This is what we came up with! It turned out great, looked great on the bride-to-be, and got a whole lot of attention <3
