I just got back from a 5 day vacation in Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach, NC. The first few days were cold and rainy, but it was the perfect weather for exploring the area and eating all the delicious food the area has to offer, including my favorite, Flaming Amy's. The last day was bright and sunny and we lounged on the beach all day and, of course, got sunburned.
Sipping beers on the porch watching the rain
Exploring and surfing in the gloom
Exploring Brunswick Town and Fort Anderson
One of the tamer nights, playing cards in the cottage
Hanging around the Country Store eating boiled peanuts
Facing the Sound through the screen door
I'm hitting the road this week to take a much needed break and enjoy a little summer vacation time at the beach house in North Carolina that we rented last summer. All orders to date have been shipped and any new orders that are placed in the next week will be made and shipped next week.
Happy summer vacation!
Some more items added to the Etsy Shop today:
A new twist on an old(ish) favorite! We took our Heist Amethyst Geode Fabric and made it blue. It has shades varying from deep blue, to turquoise, to purple and it's trippy in the most amazing way possible.
I'm so excited to finally share the Heist F/W 2013 Lookbook that I've been working on for the last few weeks! Be sure to head over and see the lookbook in its entirety. I absolutely love the way it turned out, with a lot of the credit going to my amazing team: photographer Mirtha Funcia and model Nicki Sorrentino.
Also, the Heist Etsy shop is slowly being updated with new items. Yesterday I added a new batch of Small Clutches and today I added our new crossbody style, available in Ikat, Heist Agate Geode, Army and even a vegan option:
Tribal and Vegan Leather (only 2 available!)
A constant on the soundtrack playing in the Heist studio lately is Haim, a three sister plus drummer rock band out of Los Angeles. Somewhere between 70's era Fleetwood Mac and Heart and 90's era Debbie Gibson and even some Fiona Apple-esque vocals (not to mention, hair), these girls are really doing something interesting. I can't wait for their full length album to be released.
My favorite song, which has probably played 10 times today already is "Don't Save Me"-
And to see their full set from Glastonbury-
The Heist Etsy Shop has been updated with a fun new selection of Small Clutches, including the Flamingo Clutch seen above. This particular clutch is made from fabric salvaged from a vintage men's shirt from Hawaii, which I documented on Instagram before I deconstructed it.
1) Some curious visitors stopped by during the course of the day. This man, after politely asking if he could watch for a minute, told us about his paintings.
2) Leaving one of our last locations of the day. This scooter was conveniently left outside and we took full advantage, using it as a prop.
